falling is fatal

down

down

down

twisted

like the pretzels the crowd eats

watching in awe

of the abnormalities

caged by deformities

they hated as a child

joined the circus

to be masked

by sparkes and feathers

the spandex glamour attached to their lifestyle

bodies scrawny and rugged

like the ropes they swing from

black

open your eyes

still

falling

falling

falling

snagged out of the air

in the invisible net below

safetly nestled

fellow performers stop

rush over

anxious

in the private moment

faces young and old

scarred

yet

angelic

reveals relief

no masks
